The desktop app is where Bokyaa listens, speaks and acts on your Mac.

Requirements

  • macOS 13 (Ventura) or newer.
  • Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) recommended. Local models are slow on Intel Macs.
  • Ollama for the Free plan's on-device models. Models take 2.5 to 14 GB of disk each.

Install

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Bokyaa to Applications.
  2. Builds are not notarized by Apple yet. On first launch, right-click the app, choose Open, then confirm.
  3. Install Ollama and pull a model, for example ollama pull qwen3:4b.
  4. Sign in with your Bokyaa account. Create one if you do not have one yet.

Permissions

macOS asks for access only when a feature needs it: Accessibility, Screen Recording, Microphone, Automation, Calendars, Reminders. You can revoke any of them in System Settings.
